SASI CEOs’ Meeting, Paris
CIS General Manager participated in the SASI CEOs’ meeting 5-09 held in ICAO European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Office in Paris, France.
The SASI Project (Support for ANSPs for Safety Management Systems Implementation) was set up in 2004 to help ANPSs define and implement Safety Management Systems compliant with ESARRs and SES related Legislation. During 2009 it was noted with great satisfaction that many of the SASI States now have reached and passed the SASI objective of 70% maturity. Focusing on how to enhance the implementation of SMS, the elements of the SMS improvements mentioned below were considered as essential:
- Governance Principle of Management Systems.
- Safety KPIs.
- Cost of SMS.
The three issues are intrinsically linked because applying these provisions enables ANSP senior management to identify areas for improvements and make out the cost of SMS.
CIS team presented the SMS Cost model as part of the workshop agenda. CIS SMS Cost model was recognised as the best solution to estimate SMS day-to-day and implementation costs. More information about working sessions you may find on: SKYbrary.aero
Honoured speakers during the working session in Paris were experts as Mr. Karsten THEIL – Regional Director of European and North Atlantic Office of ICAO, Dr. Erik MERCKX – EUROCONTROL CND Deputy Director, Tony LICU – ND SSHF Activities Manager and SASI Executive Board Members.
